About Me

I am the mother of two awesome sons, an awesome daughter-in-law and a beautiful granddaughter. My teaching career began in Oklahoma and has extended to include directing award-winning choirs in East Texas as well as South Texas.  I have 16 years of experince in Texas Schools and am Certified to teach Choir/ Band/Orchestra K-12. I am a member of Texas Choral Directors Association and Texas Music Educators Association. I have served as a clinician and adjudicated in the region TMEA realm along with UIL Solo and Ensemble. I have served as Region Secretary and hosted multiple competitions for both TMEA and UIL. I have an Associates Degree in Music from Eastern Oklahoma State College and my Bachelors in Music /Vocal Emphasis from East Central University of Oklahoma.

I feel blessed to follow my passsion everyday. I get to care about students,  show them avenues to travel through life, inspire people, teach music literacy and sing everyday...and I get paid to do it. I'm not talking monetarily but in the lightbulb moments and lifelong connections with the next generation.

Mission Statement

My career has allowed me to teach all the way from K-12 and it has given me a foundation to know what a great feeder program can do for students as well as the choral program in general. That is my mission. To provide my students with a quality music education, to assist them in their High School career in choir by providing a sound foundation in music literacy, to integrate a higher level of understanding of music and its importance in life. To give opportunities to experience both different genres of music as well as musical careers and financial assistance in college in the music field.
