About Me
Hello,
My name is Leilani Aguirre. I am currently the Life Skills teacher at Rockport Fulton Middle School, grades 6-8. I have been involved somehow with Special Education since 2003 when I started out as a para. I have always known that I wanted to be a teacher, but it wasn't until the birth of my oldest son that I realized that my path would lead me towards Special Education. I am a graduate of Texas A&M Corpus Christi where I earned my Bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Special Education and I received my Master's in Education for Leadership from Concordia Lutheran University-Austin.
I am a momma of 4 amazing children, each with a definite personality all their own. My oldest son was born with Down's Syndrome and later diagnosed with Autism which led me to where I am today. I wouldn't change our journey for the world.
I enjoy very much what I do. Each new student is another opportunity to make a difference.
Mission Statement
My mission is to learn as much as I can to help my students and their families so that I may prepare them for life and help them be successful and productive members of society. I don't just gain a student, I earn a family, and building a positive relationship is of the utmost importance to ensure that student's success.
