About Me

I have lived in Rockport since 1984 and raised my family here in a old home that is bears a Texas historical marker.  My three kids are all grown and on their own.  I play the piano and guitar.  I enjoy the beach, my family and six grandchildren, riding my bike and reading.   I volunteer at Sacred Heart Church and you can usually see me playing the keyboard there.  I also have directed and acted in plays at the Rialto Theater in Aransas Pass and the Rockport Little Theater.  I stay pretty busy in our community and will look forward to meeting you at Middle School very soon or seeing you under your mask somewhere in Old Rockport!

Mission Statement

My aim is for all students to be problem solvers, thinkers and life-long learners who are able to evaluate works of art and be comfortable in gallery/museum settings.  Art will make you a well-rounded person and you will appreciate art more as well as be able to evaluate and purchase works art.  It is my hope that you will be able to  contribute to the art community and find joy in creating new things.  Grades in Art are based on effort rather than ability.  When you practice art every day for one hour, you will improve.  It is my hope that all art students will excel in some form of art expression by the end of the course.

My Interests

My hobbies include hiking, playing the guitar and piano, camping and reading as well as oil painting.
