About Me

When I was in second grade, I turned to my best friend and informed her,
"I know EVERYTHING a first grader is supposed to know, so I could be a first
grade teacher," and then I continued with my math problems. That is my
earliest recollection of wanting to become an educator. As I grew, I was
drawn to children--babysitting, nursery work at church, camp
counselor--and my desire to teach, just became stronger. I earned my
undergraduate degree from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) in 1988
and my Master's Degree from Texas A & M (Corpus Christi) in 1997. This
year marks my 33rd year of teaching in ACISD!
My husband was a coach & high school biology teacher in the district for
18 years before becoming an assistant principal. This year, he will be
working at the middle school.
We have two children. Our son is a senior at RFHS. He enjoys playing
basketball and fishing. Our daughter is a freshman and is looking forward
to participating in sports.
In my spare time, I'm a spectator at my children's sporting events.
